Erechtheion

The Erechtheion was a temple built for Athena Polias and Poseidon-Erechtheus, as well as various other gods and heroes.

The ancient wooden statue of Athena Polias probably stood in the eastern end of the building. It was one of the most sacred objects on the Acropolis.

The western end of the building housed several religious cults, including one for Poseidon.
