Iktinos

Unfortunately, there are no surviving sculptures to show us what this person looked like.
Iktinos was one of the architects of the Parthenon in Athens. He also worked on the sanctuary of Demeter at Eleusis.
This marble block comes from the Temple of Apollo Epikourios at Bassae, designed by Iktinos. The frieze shows Herakles and the Greeks fighting the Amazons.
