Explore

The Explore presents information about some of the great thinkers and artists of ancient Greece. Material is organized by individual or by specialist field including art, literature, philosophy or politics.


Challenge

The 'Plague of Athens' challenge asks children to match people's beliefs about disease to the suggested cure for the plague. Based on actual records made by the historian Thucydides, children interact with contemporary reactions to the plague which hit Athens between 430 and 426 BC.
